A spiritual path is not an easy road to take; there will be many dead ends and wrong turnings. But don't despair, many are on the same path to guide you.

Taking a more spiritual path in life can be fraught with difficulties; friends, peers and relations may be concerned at the new ‘you’. Some of your once closest friends may stop calling, a few may start making excuses to avoid a visit, while others may react with consternation as a result of your behavior. If in your thirties or forties, a spiritual awakening, will often be termed a ‘mid-life crisis,’ which is usually dismissed by others.

It can be extremely hard to admit to family, friends and work colleagues, that you have become ‘awakened to our reality’ and more aware of consciousness and the ‘illusion’ of a physical existence. It takes time, patience, and many wrong pathways to discover the truth, the nature of spirituality, the subtle energies at work in the physical realm, the harmonic guidance that is happening now on a global scale.

Finding the Right Path

A spiritual path can be a lonely one, the road is littered with charlatans who ‘set up camp’, say all the right things, but then show their true colours, leaving one dejected and battle weary. These early experiences are necessary, as these trials only serve to make the querent stronger and more capable of identifying others whom are walking along a spiritual path.

After time, a more spiritual existence becomes more natural, your higher self blends with the physical, a more relaxed and bolder person emerges, like a phoenix from the ashes. This can be a life-changing experience. During this period, you may explore many different aspects of connecting with spirit, via divination methods like tarot, runes, astrology and dowsing. Learning new skills also will open up a new world with many like-minded people, all on the same path.

Merging the Worlds

As you make new friends and get involved in helping others to become accustomed to the awakening to consciousness, everything will begin to fall into place. Listen to the little voice inside, as it will tell you what is right. Don’t be surprised if ‘strange coincidences’ start to occur, as you may change jobs, or even take up a new challenge that previously appeared to be out of reach.

An intolerance of injustice, war and destruction will become prevalent; many on a spiritual path become more active and vocal in trying to achieve a peaceful, happy, world. This side of a spiritual warrior merges quite happily with one who still needs to put bread on the table.

The days of hermits removing themselves to connect only with spirit are long gone. Be grounded, but celebrate your understanding of consciousness. A balance will be found, a happy medium achieved. A spiritual path can be winding, pitted with potholes, yet once taken, there really is no turning back.
